News & Updates
We were delighted with the success of our charity launch event in June from which we raised over £50,000. The event, held in the Polish Hearth Club was attended by over 90 guests and the event was opened by former Prime Minister and huge supporter of Ukraine, Boris Johnson.
Former Ukrainian Minister and wounded veteran Volodymyr Omelyan gave an account of his rehabilitation journey since being wounded in 2024. Our good friend and founder of the Mercy and Health Foundation Dr Oleksandr Yatsyna briefed the audience on their rehabilitation plans, much of the funds raised will be used to buy specialists equipment.
Now that we have a good pot of funds Dr Sara McNeillis is currently sourcing two pieces of equipment that the Mercy and Health Foundation have requested, a Lite Gait 900 hoist frame with a rehab treadmill and a neurological cap. For the former we have secured a good price from The Recovery Project based in Leicester.
Once this equipment has arrived (expected mid September) it will be transported by Charlie McGrath, accompanied by his good friend Ricky Wilson to Kyiv in a Mercedes Sprinter van. In addition to this equipment we shall also be transporting sterile medical bandages and gauze, crutches and medical sanitary equipment. These items have been requested by the Mercy & Health Foundation and will be used in local hospitals that the Foundation support. The van will cost approximately £10,000 so donations are very much appreciated.
